What's Happening at P.S. 247?

PS 247 celebrated Red Nose day. Sponsored by the Comic Relief Fund is for helping children overcome poverty and social injustice.

NYC Reads 365 challenges New Yorkers to read every single day. Read for pleasure, read to find out, read to argue, read to persuade, read to laugh, read to cry, read to understand, read to forget. Help us create a new generation of readers.
As part of the New York City Reads 365 initiative, our school was sent many wonderful books to get our students started. Posted outside the library are the reading lists for grades K-5. Stop by the library to check out our new books!
For more information, read the press release for
NYC Reads 365.

P.S. 247 is participating in the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Math-a-Thon!

Do the math. Help save lives.

For more than 35 years, the St. Jude Math-A-Thon, benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, has been America’s largest education-based fundraiser. To participate, kids in grades K-8 ask family and friends for pledges to solve math problems in the St. Jude Math-A-Thon Funbook, developed by Scholastic.

Check out your child's grade newsletter to find out important information about important events and topics covered. Go to our Parent Information link, then click on Grade Newsletters.
